Testimony of Talia Opperman

Interviewed by Pastor Dre Henderson

1 May 2024

How was your life like before you got saved?

Talia says that looking from the outside her life looked all good and well, she was doing well in her career but there was a void that she was trying to fill.

She was going out to jazz clubs and dancing and just filling it with things she thought was healing her heartache and the pain of being a divorced mom with kids and the heartache of having gone through that divorce. Talia says she was masking and kind of doing things to just heal, in her own capacity.

How did you end up changing?

During Covid she watched an online service and was touched by the holy spirit. She prayed the same prayer that he had led her into and just began to break down and cry.

She says she could not understand where that feeling came from, but now knows that it was the presence of God.

She remembers giving her heart to Jesus on that day and just knowing that if God could save that man from his situation, He can and will save her.

What is God doing in your life today?

“God is using me in ways I would have never thought to imagine. God has sent me to Amsterdam, to Europe, to the ladies’ leadership retreat of Victory Outreach in America.

God has even given me the opportunity to have a radio show where I can talk to people and spread the word of God. I can even now pray over my kids.

I can intercede for them, that’s probably the most special thing for me coming from a life where you are hurt and broken, you don’t always know as a parent how to pray or how to sit with your kids through the situations they face but once you have God in your life, He teaches you to be a mother.

I joined the Support Group- where we talk to people that we want to get into the home and God has even placed me in a place where I can now pray with my kids, I can stand alongside woman that is as broken as I once was, and I can hold them. I can cover them, and I can walk with them because God has allowed that, that’s how God has just really been using me.”

Words of encouragement from Talia:

“I can say to our listeners out there that God is God, and I can just say that do not trust in your own understanding, the word of God says it and I never believed it myself but seek first the Kingdom of God, seek it with all your heart.

Today if you’re listening and like me, you felt like you were a prisoner in your own circumstances, your home, your situation maybe even your heart has been broken so many times that it feels like it can never be healed again, Jesus is the healer of all things.

Jesus is the setting of any stone in your life, that is the Rock of Ages.

So tonight if you’re sitting there and you’re thinking to yourself God what can I do in the circumstances, how can I be effective for you today, say that prayer that changes everything ,that is the sinner’s prayer,  just say God come into my life, be the God of my life and I promise you when to do that, you will fall in love with Jesus and it will be a decision that you will never regret in your life.

Anything can fall apart around you but He will keep you, He will protect you, and will never leave you and I just want to leave our listeners with one thing that one thing is once you start following God get involved during the church.”
