How was your life like before you got saved?
Jesse says that his life was very reckless, he was always chasing after money and friends and women. At a very young age he started drinking and smoking.
He says he always wanted to fit in and hung out with people who was influencing him in the wrong way. He says he got addicted to doing the wrong thing and wanted to fit in because he was bullied as a child.
How did you end up changing?
Jesse says the change came about when he hit an all time low. At the time he was on Tik, and his family kicked him out of the house, and he was homeless on the street. He remembers one day calling out to God asking for one door to open because he was tired of the way he was living.
What is God doing in your life today?
Jesse graduated the Victory Home Indies now off from drugs. He is also involved in church ministry, and he helps out in media and HSI – the high school ministry.
A word of encouragement from Jesse:
“I’m speaking to the young person that is listening right now I would just wanna tell the young person to stay focused. Make goals for yourself, goals that you can achieve. Positive goals.
Think of the goals that you would like in life you know, your future because what you do today will define tomorrow.
So, you just got to know exactly what you want in life, you understand and don’t choose friends. Friends are not there for forever you know; I chose friends and friends weren’t there for me when I needed them the most. So basically, choose your friends wisely.
Know who to hang around with, don’t surround yourself negativity, surround yourself with positivity so that you can give out positivity. Focus on yourself, focus on your schoolwork, focus on your future, focus on the on the goals that you set for yourself and achieve those goals.”
