“Protected Stewardship”

We have to first understand that God owns everything… we have to come from a place of recognizing Him only as Creator and also as Owner of all.

Meaning anything and everything we have is His to begin with.

Genesis 1:1 NKJV

”In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.“

Stewardship: the responsible overseeing and protection of something considered worth caring for and preserving

Biblical stewardship is recognizing our responsibility to use wisdom and integrity with the resources and possessions God has given to us. It’s when we actually trust God more than anyone or anything else.

We trust Him when we truly believe our life and everything in it belongs to Him.

1 Chronicles 29:12-14 NLT

Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength. “O our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name! But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you?

Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!

Adam and Eve were entrusted to be stewards of God’s creation…. They messed up, God punished them but forgave them…. God then moved them onward and still protected them…

Genesis 1:26 NKJV

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all[fn] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

1.         PRINCIPAL

Principal: first or highest in rank, importance, value, etc.; chief; foremost

Genesis 2:16-17 NKJV

And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; “but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Adam and Eve were give a principal to practice…

2.         PRACTICE

Practice: to perform or do repeatedly in order to acquire skill or proficiency

Genesis 3:6 NKJV

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

They didn’t practice the principal properly and the result would have a negative affect on their future.

We must be careful to practice the principals of God properly so we can secure our future.

3.         PROTECTION

Genesis 3:7-8 NKJV

Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.

Adam and Eve forfeited God’s protection and tried to protect themselves… they separated themselves from God’s protection by trying to hide what they had done.

Protection: the act of protecting or the state of being protected; preservation from injury or harm

When we stay in God’s will and practice His principals we secure His protection over our lives.

Isaiah 54:17 NKJV

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their

righteousness is from Me,” says the LORD. This is a promise of protection!

This is a promise for the “SERVANTS OF THE LORD”… Are we a servant of the Lord??

Servants of the Lord receive God’s Protection. God’s Protection also brings God’s Provision, God’s Peace, and God’s Power.
