Winds of Change

“Winds of Change”

Mark 4:35-41 NKJV

”On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”“

Last year during the prayer summit Pastor Titus gave us a word as a country, that the winds were coming again to South Africa… a fresh wind is coming…

These are WINDS OF CHANGE.

Winds of change should allow us to see Jesus for who He truly is.

The WINDS OF CHANGE will get us to see Jesus as in our lives as our…

1.          PROTECTOR

Psalm 59:17 AMP

To You, O [God] my strength, I will sing praises;

For God is my stronghold [my refuge, my protector, my high tower], the God who shows

me [steadfast] lovingkindness.

The disciples knew Jesus could protect them during the storm…

2.          PROVIDER

Philippians 4:19 NIV

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

He is our ultimate source for all we will ever need…

3.          PRINCE OF PEACE

Isaiah 9:6 NKJV

”For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.“

When we can recognize who Jesus is in our life we won’t be afraid when the winds come and can enjoy the peace He brings.

Winds are needed to move faster…

If there’s no wind we’re just cruising but once the winds come we have no choice but to adjust our sails or become shipwrecked!

Winds will challenge us! They challenge how good of a “sailor” we are! And that very challenge brings the desired change to our lives

“Smooth seas never made a skilled sailor.”

Skills we gain from sailing through the WINDS OF CHANGE…

  1. We become able to Forecast the weather ahead…
  2. We develop a sharpened Focus under pressure…
  • We become Fearless in the face of danger

We must remember that without the wind we won’t be able to move forward.

Without the WINDS OF CHANGE we will only drift along on our journey and stay stuck in the neutral zones.

The disciples had to go through winds of a storm in order to recognize who Jesus really is and the power He holds…

Even at Jesus’ death, the centurion felt the winds of change in his life and recognized that Jesus was the Son of God.

Mark 15:37-39 NKJV

”And Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and breathed His last. Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. So when the centurion, who stood opposite Him, saw that He cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, “Truly this Man was the Son of God!”“

“Truly this Man was the Son of God!”

When the winds of change come will we be able to see Jesus for who he truly is and say without doubt “TRULY THIS MAN IS THE SON OF GOD”?

TRULY HE IS MY PROTECTOR TRULY HE IS MY PROVIDER

TRULY HE IS MY PRINCE OF PEACE
