PREACHER:
Pastor George Ndu.
OPENING TEXT:
LUKE 10:2, Zechariah 8:12, 10:1, Psalms 135:5-7
LUKE 10:2 – KJV
2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
ZECHARIA 8:12:
12 For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.
Psalms 135:5-7
5 For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. 6 Whatsoever the Lord pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.
7 He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.
RECAP.
- Refer to the message “THE LORD OF THE HARVEST”
- Understanding The Elements That Governs A Harvest” seeks to x-ray the elements that function together and or collaborate in order to bring about a harvest using the field of agriculture as a case study.
- This message deals with harvest itself and all the elements that supports and guarantees it.
- The objective of this teaching is to build a strong and clear understating of the functionalities of this elements and how they synchronize to support a harvest vis-à-vis their spiritual connotations.
- The idea here is to reveal the supernatural side to sowing and reaping.
THE ELEMENTS THAT GOVERN A HARVEST :
- The Lord of the Harvest (Psalms 24:1, Psalms 23)
- The Seed
- The Soil
- The Rain (Water)
- The Wind (Air)
- The Sun (Sun-light)
- The Farmer
- The Holy Spirit
1. THE LORD OF THE HARVEST
2. THE SEED:
John 1:1-5
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
- The word of God is the seed.
- In the seed lies the harvest we desire.
- The potency for harvest is locked up in the belly of the seed. Much like
the word of God is the carrier of every harvest we desire.
- The life of everything begins with a SEED and reproduces by a SEED.
- Refer to The Parable of the Sower —Matthew 13
Proverbs 4:20-22
20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
- “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet…” Psalms 119:105
- However, the seed or the word has to be buried in the soil and
The seed has to die..
JOHN 12:14 (AMPC)
24 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains [just one grain; it never becomes more but lives] by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces many others and yields a rich harvest.
- The burial of the WORD or SEED in the earth (Soil) is the incubation process akin to the PREGANANCY stage in child bearing.
- From fertilized egg to embryo to fetus to finally a baby.
- Going from 1st trimester to the 2nd and then the 3rd. (This is a process of harvest).
- Egg —-larva—-pupa—-Adult
- The psalmist said “Thy word oh Lord have hidden in my heart…”….Psalms 119:11
- Every harvest is proportional to the seed sown.
- Therefore we must be careful what kind of SEEDS (WORDS) we allow take roots in our hearts.
- What kind of WORDS we feed on…. “You are what you eat”! Says the proverbial dog
3. THE SOIL:
- The soil is our heart.
- The place of incubation of the seed (the word of God ).
- If the seed is good and the soil is bad, the harvest inevitably will be corrupt.
PROVERBS 4:23: (AMPC)
23 Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.
- To have a proper harvest that will bless you and bless your world 🌎 you most protect the condition, integrity and credibility of the soil (the heart).
- “Guard your heart, for out of it proceeds…”
- The negative things that comes (proceeds) out of your heart/life are a direct reflection of the things you’ve allowed compromise, contaminate and corrupt your heart.
- The health of your heart ❤ will determine the health of your harvest.
SOME SPIRITUAL HEART CONDITIONS:
- Honour/Dishonour:
- Honour is the key to access
- Honour is magnetic, it keeps people within your vicinity.
- Everybody is multidimensional, the dimension you honour is the dimension that blesses you.
- Honour is directly connected to long life. Exodus 20:12, Proverbs 20:20
- Ingratitude is a display of dishonor
- Integrity and credibility
- A good name and reputation (Prov. 22:1, Gen. 12:2)
- Honesty/dishonesty.
- Offense and bitterness
- Unforgiveness, Malice and Hatred:
Read ….Hebrews 12:13-17.
- It is our ultimate responsibility to take care of our heart (SOIL) because we understand that it is a vital part of a harvest.
- Planting a seed in a bad soil (heart), will not only amount to a waste of time, but a waste of seed (word), Energy (resources) and jeopardize your expectation (Harvest), which, will lead to utter disappointment.
4. THE WATER (Rain): Jer. 5:24, Amos 4:7, Joel 2:21-27.
Jeremiah 5:24
24 Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the Lord our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.
Amos 4:7
7 And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.
Joel 2:21-27
21 Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the Lord will do great things.22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. 24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.
25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. 27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
THIS IS HARVEST!
- In Genesis 2, A river flowed out of Eden to water the garden of it divided and became four rivers. (Pishon, Gishon, Tigris and Euphrates)
- In EZEKIEL 47 We read about the water that flowed from the temple. From the under the South Side of the ALTAR.
- As a result of this water, there were very many trees growing by the river bank.
- Wherever the river goes,[d] every living creature that swarms will live, and there will be very many fish.
- There were all kinds of trees for food which grew as a result. Their leaves never withered and their bearing fruit never failed to occur.
- In fact the bore fresh fruit every month because the water for them flows from the sanctuary.
THIS IS HARVEST!
- Water 💧 here speaks of WORSHIP
- The story of Jesus and the woman by the well in John 4: 4-42 confirms that.
- The whole conversation was about worship and not water necessarily.
- The Rain component of water is akin to the flow of the glory of God under an intense atmosphere of worship.
- Before a seed is planted, Rain (water) is required to soften the ground, remove hardness and make the ground easy to till and easy for the seed sown to break through the ground.
- Having planted your seed in the ground, the Rain (Water) comes to help the seed and the plant stem to absorb the nutrients in the soil thereby causing it begin to bud.
- The rain (water) is the therefore the strength factor needed by seeds or plants to grow.
- The bible says …”In the presence of the Lord there's fullness of joy”.
- Scripture also declares…. “The Joy of the Lord is my strength”
- 2 Cor. 3:18 says ” We go from glory to glory as we behold His face”
- Having sown a good seed (the word) into a good soil (the heart), worship becomes a very veritable force to enforcing a harvest.
ISAIAH 12:3-5
3 Therefore WITH JOY SHALL YE DRAW WATER OUT OF THE WELLS OF SALVATION. 4 And in that day shall ye say, Praise the Lord, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted. 5 Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.
5. THE WIND (air): Amos 4:13, Num. 11:31, Gen. 8:1
Amos 4:13 kjv
13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The Lord, The God of hosts, is his name.
Numbers 11:31
31 And there went forth a wind from the Lord, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side, and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.
Genesis 8:1
31 And there went forth a wind from the Lord, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side, and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.
- THE WIND is symbolic of divine presence (The presence of God)
- It is signifies the operational power of God.
- It is the force that pulls together all necessary elements like a thread and causing them to work seamlessly to produce desired harvest or result.
- The wind is the galvanizing force that propels manifestation.
- It is this force or mystery that spreads the harvest and causes it to reach every where needed.
- THE WIND is the life-giving breath of God which comes upon, enters into or infuses the SEED and causes it to bear fruit.
6. THE SUN (sunlight, LIGHT)
Plant Growth Facts:
- Light is the most important variable influencing plant growth. If plants do not receive enough light, they will not grow at their maximum rate or reach their maximum potential, regardless of how much of any other variable – water, growth medium or fertiliser – they receive.
- Increasing light increases yield.
- The more light a plant receives, the more its potential to produce.
- Genesis 1:1-4.
Genesis 1:14-18:
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. 17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
- John 1:4-5
- John 9:5…”As long as I am in the world, I am the LIGHT of the World.
- LIGHT is of great essence for any harvest to ever happen.
- Without LIGHT, darkness reigns supreme.
- SCRIPTURES SAYS: “The entrance of His word…” Psalms 119:130
- So, LIGHT here refers to the spirit of REVELATION which manifest itself in:WisdomUnderstanding and Knowledge
- It requires Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding for a diligent farmer to rightly combine all the elements needed for a harvest to occur.
- Not knowing and a lack of understanding could be a recipe for failure and destruction.
- Not knowing can lead to pain BUT Knowledge is POWER!
Ephesians 1:17-18
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
EPHESIANS 4:17-18
17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
- 2024 Is not a year to be IGNORANT!
- This is not a year to walk and or work blindly and groan in the dark.
ISAIAH 60:1-3 KJV
60 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
Jesus Christ is that LIGHT, He is the WORD of God and is our LIFE
7. THE FARMER:
- This is the human contribution to the harvest.
- This is the responsibility component of man in the harvest equation
- The Farmer is the Human vessel whom God uses to create the enabling environment and to galvanize all the elements that governs the harvest.
- Gen. 2:2-5, Ephesians 3:20, Rev. 22:17
- Man is required to work in partnership with the Holy Spirit to make the harvest possible.
- It is not ALL up to God. You’ve God a part to play.
The formula is always
“THE SPIRIT AND THE BRIDE SAY COME…”!
- THE HOLY SPIRT:
- This is the supernatural force behind all the elements
- The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Lord of the Harvest manifesting in and through each of the elements to cause a harvest.
- The Holy Spirit is the third person in the God-Head (Trinity)
- He is the ‘POWER’ component and dimension of God.
- He is the chief custodian, operator and dispenser of the power of God.
I CALL HIM…
- THE GAP-FILLER
- The Equalizer

- The Can-Do Man
- The Doer Overdo
- The Chief Operations Officer (COO)
- The Chief Execution Officer (CEO)
- The Commander in Chief (C-in-C)
- The Chief Doing Officer (CDO)
- The Completer
- The Finisher
- The revealer of truth
- The Helper and Lifter of men
- He is the head of heaven’s C.I.A. (Central Intelligence Agency) and
- He is our Chief Intelligence Officer (C.I.O.)
- Our ‘INSIDE MAN’ —The Revealer according to John 16:13
13 “… for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
* To ignore the person and operation of the Holy Spirit is to ignore the harvest.
* It will be a costly mistake to your own peril and detriment.
Though we come short in various ways and may not be able to do anything on our own; the HOLY SPIRIT comes to our aid and helps our LIMITATIONS.
