Testimony of Sherwone

Interviewed by Pastor Dre Henderson

24 January 2024

How was your life like before you came to know the Lord?

Sherwone says that before he came to know Christ his life was meaningless. He did not have direction or purpose; he was just taking life day by day.

He says that he did not have direction and resorted to partying. Sherwone says that he knew God existed but did not have a relationship with God and that’s why he describes his life before Christ as meaningless.

How did you end up changing?

Sherwone says that he always knew that he was called but that he didn’t know what to do about it because he had no one to guide him. He remembers being invited to a service at Victory Outreach and felt God speaking to him. He says he got saved in that very service and God has been ever-present since.

How is God using your life today?

Sherwone says that he has fully surrendered to Christ and understands prayer and the word of God. God is using him in his family, community, and his workplace. He also serves as a leader in the GANG at Victory Outreach.

A word of encouragement from Sherwone:

“To anyone out there listening to this I just want to encourage you by saying God loves you. God is for you no matter what you are facing, God is for you. Find your identity in Christ and once you find your identity in Christ you will know who you are. You will know how valuable you are.

You will know not to be shaken by the things of this world. Seek the face of God. Stay focused and that drive and that eagerness to continuously to be filled up through the word, through prayer – God will blow your mind. God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can imagine.

So, seek the face of God and no matter what, don’t resort to the things of this world. Don’t make decisions out of anger out of certain emotions but always seek God first in everything that you do, and God will blow your mind.”
