We have a great heritage in Victory Outreach. God has shown himself strong through our ministry for over 55 years.
We have a firm foundation to build on.
1 Corinthians 3:10-14 NKJV
According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the
foundation, and another builds on it.
But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward.
What we have built will be tested, so we must be careful and intentional with what we use to build for
our lives.
Three things we must do in order to build and structure our own lives for strength..
- GIVE UP!
We have to be willing to give up our selfish desires
for will of God.
What better example do we need than that of the one we are striving to become like, the one we are
following… Jesus Christ himself gave up His own will for the will of the Father. That good, and
pleasing, perfect will.
Luke 22:42 NKJV
saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be
done.”
“Giving up” may feel like a weakness, but in our weakest moments, God makes us strong.
2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
There is nothing more powerful than a surrendered life.
- GET READY!
Once we give up our plans and our desires we are able to get ready to receive what God has for our
lives.
We can get ready by positioning ourselves to follow God’s plan for our lives.
Joshua chapters 7 & 8
- They were defeated by Ai
- Uncovered sin
- Prayed and received a new plan/strategy from
God - Were willing to do something unusual in battle
- Fought and obtained victory
Elijah and the Widow
1 Kings 17:8-16 NKJV
The widow was getting ready for what she thought life had for her but listened and obeyed when she
received a different plan from God.
When we prepare and are ready to receive what God wants to give us we are able to experience
God’s favor and provision in abundance.
- GIVE BACK!
Let us continue to follow the example of Christ and use what God has given us to give back to others.
We can give back by serving in the house of the Lord, blessing others, being a financial pillar,
evangelizing, bringing others to Christ, etc
We give back with our Time, our Talent, and our Treasure.
It is always better to give then to receive.
(Acts 20:35)
Proverbs 11:25 NLT
The generous will prosper; those who refresh others
will themselves be refreshed.
